The Seniors Committee at Our Lady of Lebanon meets every second Thursday of the month and hosts a gathering for parishioners every two weeks. Each gathering begins with Mass, followed by lunch prepared by the committee, often accompanied by music, dancing, or the screening of religious movies and documentaries. Special celebrations are held for occasions such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and the major feasts, including Christmas, Easter, and the Feast of the Assumption.
Excursions are organised twice a year, offering seniors opportunities for social connection and spiritual enrichment. In 2025, the committee visited Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Wollongong, celebrated Mass with Fr Joseph Maatouk, enjoyed lunch together, and visited Kiama for a scenic outing.
The annual retreat, led by Fr Sam and Fr Ghassan, provided a spiritually enriching experience for attendees, fostering reflection and fellowship within the parish community.
In recognition of their outstanding service during the Jubilee Year of Hope, three dedicated volunteers—Mrs Samia El Sabbagh, Mr Hani El Akoury, and Mrs Matilda Sassine—were honoured with the Medallion of Hope for their commitment to the parish and the Seniors Committee.
Through these gatherings, excursions, and celebrations, the Seniors Committee continues to provide a welcoming, engaging, and spiritually nourishing environment for all elderly parishioners.
