“He who sings prays twice” – Saint Augustine

The Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral Choir plays a vital role in the spiritual life of our parish. Its primary mission is to lead the congregation in prayer through the chanting of Syriac Maronite hymns during the Divine Liturgy and other liturgical celebrations. Rooted in ancient traditions, the Maronite Rite is enriched by sacred chants, psalms, and hymns dating back to the early foundations of Christianity. By performing these traditional melodies alongside contemporary yet liturgically inspired compositions, the choir helps parishioners engage deeply with their spiritual heritage.

At OLOL Co-Cathedral, there are five Sunday choirs: the 8:00am Arabic Choir, 9:30am Family Choir, 11:00am Arabic and English Choir, 5:00pm Choir, and 7:00pm Youth Choir. Each group comprises dedicated singers and musicians of various ages who generously offer their time and talent in service to the Church, giving praise to God through their ministry.

On feast days and special events, the choirs unite to lead the congregation in prayer, elevating the Maronite Liturgy with reverence and devotion. A highlight from 2024 was the Youth Spiritual Concert for the Feast of the Assumption, where the Youth Choir venerated Our Lady through traditional Syriac, Arabic, and English Marian chants, offering uplifting praise and glory to the Blessed Mother.

As the parish continues to grow, the choir remains a cherished opportunity for individuals to deepen their faith, cultivate their musical abilities, and actively participate in a vibrant community of worship.
