Ladies of Our Lady: A Ministry of Faith, Fellowship, and Hope

The Ladies of Our Lady Committee at Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral is a ministry dedicated to faith, fellowship, and hope. Working closely with the clergy, the committee actively serves the parish community and participates in nearly all parish events, providing a space for women to grow spiritually, emotionally, and communally.

Over the past year, the committee has organised sweets, hrissi, and catering for Our Lady of Lebanon Feast Week and other major celebrations in the Maronite liturgical calendar. In 2024, they hosted a memorable Mother’s Day cruise, bringing together 230 women in joy and unity.

In 2025, during the Jubilee Year of Hope, the ministry was officially established to further support women in the parish. The official launch took place on 8 March, coinciding with International Women’s Day, with a special Mass celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay, followed by a morning tea celebrating the theme “Women of Hope.” This event affirmed the role of women as bearers of love and light within their families, parish, and community.

Throughout the year, the committee organised several key events:

  • A Mother’s Day Lunch in May at Bayti, Parramatta, attended by over 120 women

  • Lenten Reflection Days led by Sister Irene Boughosn, providing spiritual teaching, prayer, and meaningful conversation

The Ladies of Our Lady have quickly become a vibrant and integral part of parish life, fostering fellowship, prayer, and mutual support. Their presence reflects the grace and strength women bring to the Church, and the ministry looks forward to continuing its mission of service, faith, and community in the years ahead.
