The teenage years have never been more challenging. Teens face pressures and questions that no previous generation has encountered. At OLOL Flame Teens, our aim is to help young people build a strong relationship with Christ and understand the teachings of the Maronite Catholic Church. This foundation equips them to stand firm in their faith and share the light of Christ with others.
Over the past year, OLOL Flame Teens has experienced a remarkable journey of growth, faith, and fellowship. More than 250 teens registered on Registration Day, enjoying games, ice cream, and inflatable sumo wrestling. Throughout the year, regular classes provided catechesis and spiritual formation, creating an environment where teens can deepen their relationship with God alongside peers who share their faith.
The ministry hosted a variety of events to engage teens spiritually and socially. Highlights included the Berrima Road Trip, which brought 87 teens to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy, and the Teens Camp, where prayer, talks, and group activities strengthened friendships and faith. Each camp team competed for the Ghadi Nakhoul Trophy, honouring the memory of our late Coordinator through fellowship, reflection, and prayer. Mid-year and Christmas parties also offered opportunities for celebration and connection.
A dedicated team of over 20 leaders supported these initiatives, beginning with a retreat in April to deepen their own faith. Leaders understand that to guide teens effectively, they must first nurture their own relationship with God.
Throughout the year, the ministry honoured significant moments, including the passing of Ghadi Nakhoul, with prayer, reflection, and community support. These moments reinforced the importance of faith, family, and fellowship in the life of the parish.
OLOL Flame Teens continues to inspire a love for learning about God and His teachings. Through spiritual guidance, social activities, and community support, the ministry nurtures the next generation, helping teens grow in faith, friendship, and commitment to the Maronite Catholic Church.
