The Safeguarding Committee, consisting of representatives from all OLOL committees, aims to proactively address safeguarding concerns by creating safe and nurturing environments for all who visit the parish. The committee works in collaboration with the Maronite Eparchy Safeguarding Office to ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to within the parish.
The committee endorses and enacts the strict policies set by the Maronite Eparchy Safeguarding Office and provides regular training sessions to ensure staff and volunteers are accountable for their interactions with minors and vulnerable people. Our focus is to enable children and vulnerable people to participate in decisions affecting them. It is the parish’s and committees’ top priority to take the safety of all minors and adults at risk seriously and to prioritise their interests during decision-making.
Every person involved in this parish has a responsibility to understand the significant role they play in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our parishioners. OLOL is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all who attend the parish and has a zero tolerance policy for the abuse, neglect, or marginalisation of minors and adults at risk.
